Burien’s Environmental Science Center (ESC) will be holding an ‘Insectival’ from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 28 at their Seahurst Park location.

But don’t let the title bug you – an ‘Insectival’ is just “a celebration of insects, spiders, and their relatives,” and it’s FREE.

The ESC is located north of the lower parking lot. Follow the path north along the beach; it is the first building right after the playground.

“Join the Environmental Science Center and bug-loving friends to celebrate the tiny world of insects, spiders, and more!” reads an announcement. “This free family program is perfect for people of all ages.”

  • Play bug games
  • Make insect art
  • Visit the Science Station
  • Learn about insect habitats
  • Explore the forest on a nature hike with a naturalist
  • Discover stream insects
  • Talk with experts
  • View collections of numerous species of insects

The Environmental Science Center (ESC) promotes environmental stewardship, sustainability, and academic achievement through science based education.

Seahurst Park is located at 2220 SW Seahurst Park Road in Burien.
