Learn About Scams and Fraud at ‘Scam Jam’ Event on Monday, Sept. 17

If you’re at all concerned about scams or fraud, you should consider attending the ‘Scam Jam’ workshop on Monday, Sept. 17 at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center, located at 19010 1st Ave South in Burien.

Organizers promise an education and entertaining program where guests can learn about today’s leading scams and schemes, such as Medicare fraud, insurance and investment fraud, identity theft, and other scams targeting consumers.

“Learn first-hand how to protect yourself and get your questions answered by consumer protection experts,” reads an announcement. “Visit exhibits from a variety of consumer protection agencies working for you.”

This free event is open to the public, but reservations are required. To register visit www.aarp.org/wa or call 1-877-926-8300. Free materials, door prizes and lunch will be provided.
