On Saturday (Aug. 25), what’s sure to be a record crowd – estimated at “around 1,200” – filled Des Moines Beach Park for the 3rd annual Poverty Bay Blues and Brews Festival, a fundraiser sponsored by the Des Moines Rotary Club.

Under gorgeous, sunny skies, blues and brews fans congregated on the grassy field and listened to four excellent bands while enjoying adult beverages from 15 or so local breweries.

This annual event is the prime fundraiser for Rotary’s Music4Life program, which aims to expand music to youth in our local schools.
