Artist Celeste Cooning will be presenting her ‘Star Light Star Bright’ at Burien’s annual Arts-A-Glow (we’re a Sponsor and BTB Founder/Publisher Scott Schaefer will serve as Host/MC) on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Dottie Harper Park.
This great, innovative lantern festival will run from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., and you can join the procession at dusk (around 8 p.m.) and then return for the illumination of Cooning’s most recent cut paper installation. This free viewing will be one night only and open to the public.
The procession and artwork will also feature soundscapes by Brian Moon Baillie and projections by Seattle artist Joseph Gray.
As part of the installation, Cooning will be hosting hosting a drop-in workshop at the TK Artists Lofts on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., during the 1st Thursday Art Walk in Pioneer Square. Attendees can make their own cut paper pieces and explore Celeste’s art.
