The City of Burien is now seeking nominations for its 2013 “Citizen of the Year” award, which will be given out in February.

In 2012, John Feeney was awarded the honor (read our coverage here).

Previously, this award used to be done in conjunction with Discover Burien (which still gives out its own awards), but the city decided last year to award their own, independent of that organization.

According to the city’s website, qualifications are:

  • Do you know someone who has improved the quality of life in Burien?
  • Do you know of a program or organization that has helped others in the community?
  • Do you know someone who should be recognized for his/her contributions?

Submit nominations to:

Adriene Buckley
City of Burien
400 SW 152nd St., Suite 300
Burien, WA 98198

Call Adriene at (206) 241-4647 for more information.
