The 3rd annual Burien Brat Trot 5k Fundraiser is coming the weekend of Oct. 6–7 (we’re proud to be a Sponsor for the third consecutive year) and the race course has been marked with some rather unusual artwork that will surely make participants feel like wieners.

“You’ll see some smiling hot dogs along the way!” said Ashley Fosberg, Executive Director of the Highline Schools Foundation, one of two local charities that will benefit from the third annual fundraiser (the other is Safe Kids King County South, which supports injury prevention through education and access).

Here’s the photographic evidence (click images to see larger versions/slideshow):

The race starts at 1 p.m. at the corner of 10th SW and SW 152nd in Burien, then heads south and follows the pink arrows and the blue “BT”s that mark the entire course.

The Brat Trot crew also wants our Readers to know that the 5k course is now certified by United States Track & Field.

And don’t forget the 1’ish’ mile family race that starts at Lake Burien Park at 1:40 p.m.

Here’s a map of the course (you can also see an interactive version of it here):

And here’s a 3D flyover video of it:

At the Finish Line, there will be a Bavarian Celebration that will include:

  • Tin Room Beer Garden
  • Brat and Kraut Feed
  • Live Music
  • Sponsor Booths and Stage with Entertainment
  • Children’s tent
  • Olde Burien Restaurants Joining the Celebration
