REMINDER: Come show your Burien Heart in support of the fight against Crohn’s Disease at Good Time Ernie’s (a BTB Advertiser) TONIGHT – Friday, Sept. 21 – serving as a fundraiser for “Team Lovey,” a group that will participate at an event Sept. 29 in Spokane called ‘Take Steps, Be Heard.’

Just $7 buys entrance to the Spaghetti feed that starts at 3 p.m.

Live Music starts at 7 p.m., with Raffles throughout the evening.

A silent auction for lots of great stuff, including Pearl Jam-signed memorabilia, starts at 5 p.m.

This fundraiser was the brainchild of Team Lovey, friends and family of Highline High School graduate Jeannette Gilbert, whose Crohn’s diagnosis over 9 years ago, began a long and costly battle searching for effective treatment. In an effort to support others similarly impacted, Jeanette will be participating in the Take Steps for Crohn’s Walk on Sept. 29th with her extended family (Team Lovey) all with her. This evening’s event is an extension of this fundraising effort.

Those who know Jeanette are inspired by her loving, strong and passionate attitude, while also acknowledging that the toll of the diseases impact is often hard to bear. Jeanette’s mother Cindi Gilbert shares that:

“When she was first diagnosed she was kind of caught in the middle as far as finding good support systems, she was too old for kid groups and the adult groups we found at the time were much older than her and we could never get her involved. Things probably have changed now so in doing  this I am praying she finds renewed strength and companions in the fight! I too am very passionate when it comes to my daughter and I am grateful for all she brings to life. I hope you can all stop by on Friday.”
