Organizers of Burien’s Empty Bowls Fundraiser are looking for potters or clay students to donate bowls for its event, coming Jan. 25, 2013.

“Our goal is 1,500 bowls, and every bowl donated is a huge help!” said Gina Kallman, Cultural Arts Supervisor
, Burien Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services. “One hundred per cent of the funds generated from this event are given to the Highline and White Center Food Banks.”

Bowls need to be:

  • Food safe
  • Soup size
  • Donated by mid January

“If you have bowls you can donate or would like to make a bowl pledge please let me know!” Gina added. “Or please forward this post to anyone who might like to help. This is a great way to help the community doing something you love!”

Gina Kallman can be reached at (206) 391-6605 or ginak@burienwa.gov

My family’s very favorite fundraiser for the whole year! We look forward to this one – it has everything- art, tasty soup, community bonding, awareness of a big issue for our community. Get there early, but get there!
