UPDATE 10:20 a.m. 10/4/12: King County Sheriff’s Deputies are reporting that a 57-year old Burien man was stabbed late Wednesday afternoon when he refused to give his cell phone to a man he had been drinking with in Jacob Ambaum Park.
The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at the park in the 12600 block of Ambaum Blvd. SW in Burien.
The victim told police he had been drinking at the park with a younger man. The victim said he went into the bathroom and the other man followed him and demanded his cell phone.
When the victim refused to give up his phone the man attacked him, stabbing him repeatedly. The suspect fled and the victim went to a nearby convenience store to ask for help.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he is in stable condition.
The suspect is still at large. Police believe the suspect is local and was likely covered in the victim’s blood.
