If you’re not yet registered to vote, TODAY – Monday, Oct. 8 – is your final chance to register online so you can cast your ballot in the Nov. 6 general election.
According to King County Elections [1], to register to vote in the state of Washington, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- A legal resident of Washington state
- At least 18 years old by election day
- Not under the authority [2] of the Department of Corrections
- Not disqualified from voting due to a court order [3]
In the state of Washington, you do not have to register by political party or declare political party membership to vote in the state’s regular primaries or general elections.
Please note also that first-time Washington State voters can register in-person at your local county election office until October 29, 2012.
