The Highline Schools Foundation’s annual Oktoberfest Dinner, Dance and Auction is coming up next Saturday – Oct. 20 – plenty of time to get your Lederhosen ready!

“You are invited to a festive evening to include hearty food, drinks, dancing and a great silent and live auction to benefit all students and teachers in the Highline School District!” reads an announcement.

Last year’s event was a sell-out, and organizers are expecting another capacity crowd…so don’t miss the fun – buy your tickets now!

The event will take place at the Normandy Park Cove, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

A merry German Beer Hall atmosphere with friends dressed to the nines in their Lederhosen (okay, you can wear your jeans!), Manny’s Pale Ale from Georgetown Brewing and great food from Dan the Sausageman/The Tin Room!

Some great items will be offered in small silent and live auctions. New this year — Dinner for six with Superintendent Dr. Susan Enfield in her home! Don’t miss your chance to bid!

Also, you will be entertained by the now famous Global Connections High School Jazz Ensemble — and you’ll have an opportunity to help send them to perform at this year’s Presidential Inauguration in January.

The auctioneer/emcee will be KJR’s Dick Fain, voice of the Seattle Storm and Highline School District Alum (and future parent).

Money raised at this event will help support all schools in the Highline School District in the areas of arts, athletics, classroom innovation, college readiness and more!

This year, organizers are putting a special emphasis on classroom grant program (Excel Grants) in an effort to provide even more resources toward helping local students succeed.

“We hope to see you on October 20th! Register now before it’s too late! Prost!”
