A homeless man accused of attacking an 11-year-old boy in the restroom of the Burien Albertson’s on Sept. 29, pleaded ‘Not Guilty’ Monday to an attempted rape charge, according to the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

Andrew Dempsey, 32, was charged with Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, as well as Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.

Prosecutors allege that Dempsey tried to grab the boy in the men’s bathroom while the defendant’s pants were down (read our previous coverage here). The suspect tried to escape, but was tackled by store employees and held until sheriff’s deputies arrived.
