This past Saturday night the vacant lot at Burien Town Square that once housed the Burien Interim Arts Space once again blazed to life with fire, music, dance and other arts as Ignition Northwest brought SeaCompression to town for the second year in the row.

According to the website:

SeaCompression is our annual post-Burning Man arts festival. (Named after “Decompression”, which is held in San Francisco, the home of the Burning Man organization.) SeaCompression is a celebration of the interactive arts, with an emphasis on participation. Fire arts, live music, kinetic sculptures, art cars, multiple dance spaces, sound and light shows, all can be found at SeaCompression…

The event also serves as a fund-raiser for art and educational projects.

BTB photog Michael Brunk was at the festival Saturday night and shot the following image gallery. You can click on individual thumbnails to view them larger.

Fantastic photos, Michael. Wonderful look at a very difficult subject to photograph.
