TRAFFIC ALERT: Road Work May Disrupt SW 148th/First Ave South

The City of Burien announced on its website that construction work at the southwest corner of the intersection of SW 148th Street and 1st Avenue South intersection will continue all day Thursday, Oct. 25, and possibly Friday.

“Traffic will need to merge onto left lane for all westbound travel especially for SR 518 access,” the announcement says. “This will affect left and right turns. Expect delays and plan for extra drive time. Please consider alternative routing.”

The city’s note adds:

DPK will be installing pedestrian access on the west half of the SW 148th Street and 1st Avenue South intersection on Friday morning, October 26.

Westbound travel will be closed.

This includes left-turns onto northbound 1st Avenue South.

This work is expected to be completed by midday.

Expect delays.

Please consider alternative routing.
