Thursday, Oct. 25, marked the grand opening of Navos’ new Mental Health and Wellness Center at 1210 SW 136th Street in Burien.

A standing-room-only crowd toured the new facility and heard greetings from King County Executive Dow Constantine and Speaker of the House Frank Chopp.

A healthy and delicious lunch was served in the new Navos Café, a training facility in culinary arts for Navos clients.

To quote from the ceremony’s program:

“The NHWC is a 45,000 square foot facility built to serve the behavioral and primary needs of low income people from South King County and beyond.”…” Navos is leading the nation in the move toward the integration of primary care with behavioral care. The clinic, which is operated in partnership with Public Health Seattle-King County, provides patients with treatment by a multi-disciplinary team helping them to create and meet goals that combine body and mind wellness.”

“The new Mental Health and Wellness Center is a Green building – built to LEED Gold standards”.
