ChoralSounds Northwest’s 2012 Holiday Concert – “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” – will be held Dec. 8 and 9 at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

Dynamic new Artistic Director Brian J. Winnie begins his second season with ChoralSounds Northwest (CSN), as they present Burien’s favorite family Holiday Concert at the Highline Performing Arts Center.

“I’ll Be Home for Christmas” is a family story of hope, love, and joy told through a community of singers. With the father fighting for his country, his family back home shares their memories of love with pieces such as Sjolund’s Kumbaya and Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs. You will hear the hopes and prayers of the family asking for Christmas to bring their daddy home with the songs Where are you Christmas? and Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). Dreams are finally answered as the father appears on stage united with his family for the Christmas season, singing I’ll Be Home for Christmas and describing his weary journey in The Road Home.

The second act sees some expected fun and merriment as CSN sings a true family Christmas celebration including an unforgettable Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

Families hunting for affordable entertainment will delight and parents looking for a risk-free way to introduce their children to the joys of choral music can rest easy because Northwest Associated Arts youth ticket program lets young people 17 and under in free with a paid adult ticket.
