FOLLOWUP: Local Girl Scouts Collect Over 150 Coats for ‘One Warm Coat’ Drive
Local Girl Scout Troop #41074’s ‘One Warm Coat’ drive held during Winterfest this last Saturday (Dec. 1) resulted in at least 150 coats donated at their drop-off location at the new Start Fresh Bakery in Olde Burien.
“It was a wonderful community effort,” Start Fresh Owner Catherine Barashkoff told The B-Town Blog. “Start Fresh will be a permanent drop-off site for ‘One Warm Coat’ and ‘Neighborhood House’ donations, the other community group that Girl Scout Troop #41074 has chosen to support.”
The troop will sort and deliver the donations later this week – free of charge – directly to the ‘Transform Burien Clothing Closet’ for distribution to local people in need.
One Warm Coat is national non-profit organization that supports and encourages coat drives. It helps individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country collect coats and deliver them to local agencies that distribute the coats free to people in need. More than one million coats have been provided to those in need at no cost since its inception in 1992.
Way to go girls and B-Town!
