“It’s that time of year and the Burien Tree Lighting Festival is tonight,” reminds Shawn Becker, Operations Manager of Economy Wiring/YB Tubless. “We want to see as many people here TONIGHT (Wed. Dec. 5) as possible.”

It starts at 6 p.m. tonight – Wed., Dec. 5 – at Economy Wiring/YB Tubless (B-Town Blog Advertisers) on SW 148th, just west of Ace Hardware.

Look for the giant living Fir tree. It will be officially lit up a little after 6:30 p.m.

Santa will be there, passing out candy canes. He’ll show up on a “Christmas Red” fire engine proudly accompanied by Burien/Normandy Park firefighters.

The St. Francis School Choir will grace the occasion with traditional Christmas and Holiday songs.

Treats and hot beverages will be available for everyone.

“We will also be collecting canned food for local families,” Becker added.

“Please bring any non-perishable food items you can spare. Your help is much appreciated. Come out and enjoy the evening!”

Great turnout tonight for the tree lighting in Burien. I thoroughly enjoyed it being our first time out. Santa was a hoot too seeing him ride in on the lit up fire truck! Thanks Firefighters! Also the choir singing carols were fantastic. If you missed it this year you should give it a try. Only 40 minutes out of your schedule!
