On Tuesday (Dec. 11), just before 2:30 p.m. Burien Police responded to the Social Security office on SW 156th regarding a person with a gun.

“The suspect, a 36-year old man, who is said to be homeless, went into the office with a backpack,” Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Office told The B-Town Blog. “When the security officer asked to check the backpack for weapons the suspect said he had a gun in the backpack. The security officer retrieved the gun from the backpack and then a fight ensued between the suspect and guard until the guard could get him under control. The guard believes the suspect was trying to get the gun from him.”

West adds that one of their deputies arrived and turned the case over to Homeland Security, which is now handling the case.
