Burien’s historic Barrel Tavern will be hosting its annual ‘Chicken Friday Christmas’– a fundraiser for the White Center Food Bank and other local causes – from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. this Friday night, Dec. 14.
Cost is $10 per plate for a chicken buffet dinner (21 and over only), and last year they raised $4,000.
If you can’t come but would still like to contribute, organizers are asking folks to please make a check or money order payable to: “White Center Food Bank.”
This fundraiser also supports the ADG Motorcycle Club’s toy drive for Child Haven. There will be a pick up box at the Barrel (and other places) until Dec. 15.
“So if you have a new toy you would like to give a child, bring it with you on the 14th – you can make a child happy and Feed Some People,” reads an announcement.
There are also “Jars on the Bars” at these fine local establishments accepting donations:
- Elmers (SW 150th & Ambaum)
- Wunderland Smoke Shop (SW 149th & Ambaum)
- Good Time Ernie’s (SW 157th & Ambaum)
