The deadline to nominate someone for the City of Burien’s ‘Citizen of Year’ is Friday, Dec. 28.

The city’s website asks:

  • Do you know someone who has improved the quality of life in Burien?
  • Do you know of a program or organization that has helped others in the community?
  • Do you know someone who should be recognized for his/her contributions?

(hmmm…we know of an organization that has helped the community for five years that’s never been recognized by the city…wink wink)

The honor will be awarded in February, 2013.

If you want to nominate someone, you’re asked to submit nominations to:

Adriene Buckley
City of Burien
400 SW 152nd St., Suite 300
Burien, WA 98198

Or call Adriene at (206) 241-4647 for information.

Debi Wagner has consistently acted in others’ best interest over her own; the way every good citizen should act. I hope she gets serious consideration.
