Benefit Concert for Tape Ministries NW will be held Friday, Feb. 8 at John Knox
“Ballads for the Blind,” a free benefit concert for Tape Ministries NW, featuring ‘Breath of Air’ lead by Dr. J. Bayard BuDois, will be held Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church.
“A freewill offering will be taken to support Tape Ministries NW, which serves the blind and disabled nationwide,” reads an announcement.
Tape Ministries NW was founded in 1980 at a women’s Bible study at John Knox Presbyterian Church. A woman who was blind mentioned that the local public library had very few faith-based books on tape. In response, several of the women offered to record their favorite Christian book.
Tape Ministries NW’s mission is “to provide wholesome, inspirational recorded material for people who cannot read due to blindness, visual impairment or other disabilities. We aim to share the pure joy of reading through books that inspire, entertain and provide encouragement, comfort and hope,” according to their website.
