As we reported when they first opened March 10, 2012:

Meston’s was born from a Home Staging Business which closed its doors shortly after the housing market tanked. Instead of folding up shop and running with their tails between their legs, Rob and Krista Meston started selling their inventory and quickly realized that they were filling a niche in Burien and voila’, Mestons was hatched. Rob started spending money like it was going out of style and started buying Storage Lockers, Estate Sale Items, and Garage Sale Stuff and soon they realized that #1, Rob has a problem and #2, they needed more space. They have since leased a second location in the same building and have decided to open the doors on a regular basis, on March 10, 2012.

Mestons specializes in common and uncommon thrift items and oddities including but not limited to:

  • Tools
  • Antiques
  • Oddities
  • Auto parts (yes, they have an engine and several transmissions among many other things)
  • Big and small Appliances (including a Slurpee machine, nacho heater, antique handheld blenders, etc.)
  • Office Supplies (including desks, printers, notepads, etc.)
  • Knick-Knacks of all Shapes and Sizes
  • Bikes (including a rare 1957 Schwinn Hollywood )
  • Many Household Items (bedding, pillows, etc.)
  • Lighting (indoor and outdoor lighting including Gym Lights)
  • Clothing (this will be a small part of their inventory)
  • We also intend to eventually buy gold and silver

Rob added:

In addition to the common items found at many thrift stores such as antiques, oddities and other unusual items, we carry office supplies, office furniture, home furnishings (some old and some new), residential and commercial lighting (yes we have lots of Gym Lights).  We’ve got some auto supplies up to an including a rebuilt Nissan Motor and GM Transmission. We also have 8 industrial sewing machines, electronics, pictures, tools (old and new), lots of sporting goods (old and new) and a section called “RUST”, which is dedicated to older tools and oddities that have seen better days but are still unique. If we don’t have it and someone wants it…we’ll get it. We are also going to offer a “Picking Service” wherein we go to people’s homes or businesses and pick from their new or old items that they intend to sell. In the future, we intend to offer an auction service as well as bring people together to sell their items in a swap meet format.

If you’re interested in picking up this already-stocked thrift store at a bargain price, call Rob at 206-954-3356.
