A Blood Drive will be held at Peace of Prince Lutheran Church in SeaTac on Monday, Feb. 4th, and donors are needed.

This is a walk-in event – no appointments are necessary – and will be in the Fellowship Hall of Prince of Peace Lutheran , located at 19030 8th. Ave. S. in SeaTac.

Please note earlier than usual blood drive hours:

• 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (closed 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm)

Blood center employees were notified of the following patients receiving blood transfusions this past week:

• A 30 year old male at a local hospital underwent open heart surgery and needed 10 red blood cell units, 18 plasma units and 6 platelet units.
• A 35 year old female needed 10 red blood cell units and 6 plasma units after hemorrhaging following a routine C-section.
• A 60 year old male has so far used 12 red blood cell units, 11 plasma units and 1 platelet unit while undergoing a liver transplant.

Puget Sound Blood Center donors saved the lives of the above patients.
