The United Way Free Tax Campaign is now helping households throughout King County file their taxes for free, including at the Burien Goodwill.

Any household earning under $51,000 annually is invited to drop in and have their taxes filed by an IRS-trained and certified volunteer tax preparer.

Sites can help taxpayers in multiple languages. The tax sites have daytime, evening, and weekend hours available through April 15th. No appointment is necessary. The sites make sure clients get their refunds quickly and they double check to make sure clients get all the tax credits and deductions they are eligible for!

United Way will also connect interested clients to public benefits like basic food, FAFSA funding for college, utilities assistance and credit pulls.

The United Way of King County Free Tax Campaign is designed to help low and middle-income families increase their financial security. Last year, the program helped people file 14,400 returns, bringing back $20.7 million in refunds to the community. On average, taxpayers got back $1,400 in refunds.
