Cole Madison, a prolific lineman and tight end for Burien’s Kennedy Catholic High School Lancers, has signed a letter of intent, and will head off to Pullman to play football for the Washington State Cougars this fall.
Madison, who went by the nickname ‘Goldlilocks‘ because of his long flowing hair, stands 6’6″ and weighs 270lbs.
He graduates from Kennedy this June.
“He’s a young man with a lot of size who could end up in a few places on Mike Leach’s offensive,” reads a post on the SB Nation CougCenter website. “The Kennedy High School and Burien, WA native is listed at 6’6″ tall and 270 pounds by Scout and is just an inch shorter according to Rivals. Scout lists him as a 3-star lineman and the 42nd best offensive guard in the 2013 class while Rivals gives him just 2-stars. Madison also sported offers from Idaho and Northern Colorado with interest from a couple other schools as well before committing last summer.”
According to Scout.com, here are some of his achievements include:
- 2012: First-team Class 3A All-State by the Associated Press. First-team all-league at tight end and defensive line and voted league Defensive Interior Lineman of the Year.
- 2011: 15 receptions for 265 yards, 37 tackles and 2 sacks; First-team Seamount League Offense Tight End

Congrats to Madison and the Cougars (sorry Huskies…), and here’s hoping for a successful career…maybe as a Seahawk someday?
