Sgt. Pepper may not have “taught the band to play,” but 20 years ago today – Feb. 28, 1993 to be exact – Burien incorporated into a city.

A celebration will be held at this coming Monday night’s council meeting (March 4, 7 pm) at City Hall Council Chambers, when former Mayors and councilmembers will join in wishing the city a happy birthday.

“Come and enjoy some birthday cake!” reads a note on the city’s website.
