…the only thing they still need is YOU!
Shorewood Elementary School will be holding its annual auction fundraiser dinner this Saturday, March 9, starting at 5 p.m. at South Seattle Community College’s Brockey Center.
“If you like an old-fashioned dinner auction with the goal of helping a public elementary school, then you are just who we are looking for!” reads an announcement. “The goal of the Shorewood Elementary Dinner Auction is to raise $15K to fund updated technology and support programs that benefit all Shorewood students. The fact is 67% of our Shorewood Elementary students need assistance buying lunch. A faltering economy and job loss means many of our families can’t afford tickets to a dinner auction or to bid on a class project. Yet, the need is greater than before. For instance, PTA is working to create scholarship opportunities for after-school clubs and other needs. Our students are our greatest resource for the future, so helping to fund programs, new books and technology that enrich and expand student opportunities, is a great investment for local businesses (who have donated generously to our auction); and for members of our community who are fortunate to have jobs and steady income.”
“In short, please come or else please donate online—if you are able to do so! We are all in this together for the children.”
