Chorizo Loco — White Center’s newest entry into the red-hot “food truck” craze — celebrated their grand-opening this past weekend on Saturday, March 16.

Did we say food TRUCK? More like food BUS! This behemoth was renovated from the ground-up by owner Pedro Gallegos with the goal of being a complete commercial kitchen on wheels.

With 16 years of experience as a chef, Gallegos’s goal was provide great food at a reasonable price. The food blends traditional dishes from the north and south of Mexico with more Americanized dishes to provide something for just about everyone.

As you might guess from the name, chorizo (a spicy sausage) is a something of a specialty and dishes featuring both green and red chorizo are found on the menu.

Given how critical location is for a restaurant, the ability to move was a big incentive for Gallegos to choose a food truck over a traditional store front. And the size of this vehicle even provides interior seating for up to eight diners!

This family-run business is open 11 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. You’ll find them parked next to the Chevron station at 16th Ave SW and SW 100th Street in White Center.
