Want to Run for Office? King County Elections Offering Candidate Workshops

King County Elections will be offering two free 2-hour workshops for people interested in filing for public office – including any who want to run for the Burien City Council, which will have four positions up for election.

The workshops will be held Thursday, April 25 from 2 – 4 p.m., and Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. – Noon.

Candidate filing dates are May 13 – 17.

“Members of the public, candidates, campaign managers, treasurers, and staff are invited to attend the 2013 Candidate Workshops,” reads an announcement.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Filing for office in King County
  • Submitting your local voters’ pamphlet information
  • Voter lists and data management
  • Campaign sign regulations
  • Basic public disclosure information

WHEN: Thursday, April 25 from 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon

WHERE: King County Elections office, located at 919 SW Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057.
