With the recent spate of crime news, apparent random shootings, break-ins and other assorted bad goings-on in the area, the Burien Police Department has stepped up and produced the following video, featuring Sgt. Henry McLauchlan giving some great tips that can help prevent crime.

The video, produced by Puget Sound Access, runs 12:37 and includes some great crime-fighting tips from Burien’s own ‘Andy Griffith’ (sorry Henry, that reference is from some Three Tree Pointers who love you!):

Thanks Henry and BPD! Now let’s see if we can’t get you more funding from the City and County so there’s more resources to track down the thugs.

Thank you, Henry for this very informative video. Every block watch captain should be emailing it to all the homes on their block.
If your block does not have a block watch program, Henry will be glad to get you set up.

I could not watch the video on my phone, but the block watch is a great idea. Recently in my apartment building the Dominiques have had it bad. Families getting everything taken from them, like one family house got broken into during the day and they took about everything valuable in the apartment. Others getting the cars broken into breaking there windows to steal their stereo what those robbers don’t think about is there taking the peace of mind we all have children they need to feel safe. Another family got there truck
stolen and still has not got it back it had kids car seats tools and they can not get it back so they will have to
go out of there pocket and buy everything again its not fair we should not be living like this.

Thank you Sgt. McLauchlan, very informative for those who have questions and a great refresher for everyone- I know my mom is smiling at you! I also want to thank the Burien Police/King County Deputies who have responded very quickly anytime I have had to call because of problems in the neighborhood- car prowls/break-ins. They have always been friendly and professional and we are lucky to have them. Everyone needs to be alert and do their part to keep our community and neighborhoods safe and as crime free as possible.
