The South King County Flower & Garden Show – a fundraiser for the SeaTac Rotary Club – will be held on Saturday, April 13 at the SeaTac Community Center from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This is the event’s first year, and organizers are trying to get it off the ground and running.

In fact, they’re still looking for vendors and sponsors.

“The SKC Flower & Garden Show is a new Rotary charity event to fund local community service programs and projects for marginalized children and families,” reads an announcement. “As the only service organization in the community, we change lives through scholarships, academic supports, rent assistance, recreational opportunities, and learning opportunities.”

Here’s more:

Because we know you care about children and families in our community, we would like to invite you to join us in this endeavor by participating as a sponsor or display vendor. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will be returned to the community to help children and families thrive and prosper.

The SeaTac Rotary Club is a service organization comprised of a dynamic group of people intent on providing increased resources to an area where need is far greater than in many communities. We have between 73%-93% of students in our local schools receiving free and reduced lunch. Children and families struggle daily to maintain stability, access supports, build connections, and achieve academic success.

In the past, our Rotary dinner auction easily provided funds for projects that addressed such needs, but today this event has run its course. We now look to bring a new and exciting event that is unique to the greater South King area and has great potential to grow. Please consider joining us!
