While not quite as popular (or stinky) as a beached fin whale, ‘FIN’ the giant Salmon ‘swam’ into Burien Town Square Park Wednesday, April 17, and Photographer Justin Bennett was there to capture these pics:

Rebecca Dare of Sustainable Burien explains ‘FIN’ the Salmon to kids Wednesday. Dare is partially responsible for coordinating the sculptures visit to Burien from Hadlock, WA.

The inside of FIN shows kids what a healthy stream is supposed to look like.

Brought to town by Sustainable Burien, along with the Community Salmon Investigation, the fish sculpture is so big that children can walk (and crawl) right through it to learn about the life cycle of a salmon and how to protect its habitat.

“Come see what you can do to help the salmon of Puget Sound!”

FIN will also be there all day Thursday, April 18.

Also, FIN swallowed Sonja Morella, a real estate agent at Burien Windermere:

“Since she is NOT GLUTEN FREE like other agents in the area the fish thankfully spit her out and all is well ;)” Sonja said.
