Police Chase Ends in Fiery Head-On Crash in Boulevard Park Tuesday Night
The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a Tuesday night police chase ended in a violent head-on car crash and fire in the Boulevard Park neighborhood.
A deputy first spotted a reckless driver at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night (April 16) on northbound Des Moines Memorial Drive South, according to King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.
West said that when the driver refused to pull over, the officer started a pursuit.
The chase ended when the driver crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into another car in the 9600 block of Des Moines Memorial Drive South (map below).
The suspect car burst into flames, but deputies were able to safely pull the driver and a passenger from the wreckage.
Those two were rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries, West added.
The other driver had minor injuries.
