One hour done; 188 hours to go at the Burien Farmers Market

The first hour of the 2013 Burien Farmers Market is underway!

We have a mathematician friend watching our B-Town Blog booth right now, and he reports the following math:

There will be 27 Farmers Market in Burien this season (“Every Thursday including the Fourth of July!” says Market Director Debra George). The Market goes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., so that means this hour is the first of 189 hours of Burien Farmers Market goodness this year.

“Plenty of sunshine, flowers, strollers, dogs, handmade greeting cards and jewelry today,” adds our booth sitter.

JoAnn from Burien says “I had two cookies here and a hotdog. The food is always good. It’s nice to bask in the sun.”

Three more good things to note: At today’s Farmers Market there are:

  • No malcontents
  • No faces hidden by bandanas

The Burien Farmers Market is located at Burien Town Square Park, on SW 152nd and 5th Place SW.

I read that as antichrist 😉

Although not malcontent my son was sad that there are still no honey folks there… he was looking forward to a honeystick… luckily there was shaved ice… that seemed to stem the anarchist in him

  2. Shouldn’t it, really, be “Farmers’ Market”, plural possessive? There’s more than one farmer. (I say the same about writing out Veterans’ Day.) Just being fussy. : )

And now for the next month and a half nothing but Asparagus!!!! (Good thing I like Asparagus)

  4. Marie says:

It would be nice if it were open until 7pm so working folks can have a chance to enjoy the market too. Every year I am hoping the hours get extended, but no such luck.
