A monthly Reiki class takes place at the Burien Community Center the second Tuesday of each month, and here are the details:

SOMETHING TO SOOTHE THE BODY/RELIEVE STRESS

WHAT: Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy. The origin of current Reiki practice can be traced to early 1900’s Japan. This gentle, non-invasive hands-on healing practice is deeply relaxing. Using Bio-feedback instruments, the treatments consistently show reduced heart, pulse and respiration rates, all measures of a state of relaxation. The recipient lies down or sits comfortably and is fully clothed. All treatments will be under the supervision of a professional Reiki master.

WHEN: 10: 30 AM to 12: 30 PM

COST: Donation of $5.00-$10.00 (which goes directly to the Community Center as all Reiki practitioners are volunteers)

PURPOSE: To introduce Reiki to the general public in a relaxed, quiet, accessible environment and to make treatments available to those who otherwise would not have access to alternative therapies

RSVP: Sign-up at the front desk for a half-hour appointment or call 206-988-3700/Address: 14700 6th Ave. SW, Burien.
