Too hot for ya? City turns on water fountains at Town Square Park

After Monday’s record-setting 86 degree high tied the area with Phoenix as the hottest in the nation, the City of Burien on Tuesday decided to turn on the water fountains at Town Square Park.

Temps are predicted to hit 76 this afternoon, 77 on Wednesday, 76 on Thursday and 72 Friday.

The fountains will run from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. during the week, and weekend operation will begin later this spring.

“Bring the kids to Town Square and let them cool off in the spray park,” reads an announcement.

Town Square Park is located at the northwest corner of City Hall, at 400 SW 152nd Street.

    Ha! On for the weekdays and off for the weekend? Genius. I’m sitting here in the dry fountain watching 6 angry kids throw rocks. Perhaps the city aught to stick to the schedule on its website – fountain on starting May 1.
