In support of our Relay team and all of those who have had cancer touch their lives , residents of Boulevard Park Place formed a walking club and have been walking since the middle of January. The team has 34 members and collectively they have walked over 2,400 miles. Their goal is to reach 3,000 miles by June 8, the date of our Relay. They are each earning $1.00 per mile walked and will be donated to Relay For Life of Highline in their name. The average age of this group is 79 years young. One of them has walked more than 350 miles, on her way to over 400 miles by June 8th.

Almost 30 Years ago, a Tacoma Doctor ran a track for 24 hours to raise money for cancer research. This gave birth to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Today, there are Relay For Life events all over the country, including, Burien, on June 8th. Form a team today and together we can make a difference in the fight against cancer! And celebrate more birthdays! For more information on Relay For Life events within your community, visit RelayForLife.org!
