‘Voices of Burien’ Open Mic will be Friday, May 31 at Community Center

Voices of Burien‘ – a new youth-oriented writing group – will be holding its first Open Mic at the Burien Community Center on Friday, May 31 from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

“We are celebrating the Youth and their Voice!!!” reads an announcement. “Please come share your Poetry, Singing, Rap, Dancing and any talent you have! Or just come support Local teens and their talent. Free to the Public with a suggested 1$ Donation. Concessions and an Amazing night Provided”

Here’s the schedule:

  • 7:00 : Welcome & Intro to spoken word and Youth Voice
  • 7:10 – 7:20 Voices of Burien Performance
  • *5 Minute Break*
  • 7:25 – TBD : All Ages Open Mic
  • 8:30 : 21 & under POETRY SLAM

Voices of Burien is committed to safety in our community for all of our members. Also, you may hear some swearing at this event so keep that in mind. But we at Voices of Burien stand behind the artist’s right and choice to use language from the heart.
