The City of Burien on Wednesday (May 29) announced that between Monday, June 3 and Friday, June 7 a contractor will be placing the first layer of asphalt along a stretch of the 1st Ave South project area from S/SW 146th Street to just north of S/SW 140th Street.

“Traffic will be disrupted in each travel lane throughout the day,” according to the announcement. “If the weather holds the contractor should have two lanes completed by work day’s end. Work is expected to be completed in two to three days. Please consider using alternative routes like 4th Avenue SW or plan for extra travel time.”

  1. Robert Richmond says:

The Council just announced MORE work on 1st Ave??? Is there anyone who can answer as to WHY we need to tear it up again? How long does it take to fix a road? Are we still waiting for “Grants from the County and State” to make this happen?

We need to become a “self efficient City” And with your vote we will achieve just that!
