We received numerous inquiries about police and chopper activity in the 14200 block of 8th Ave South in Burien Thursday night (May 30), and here’s what we have learned:

According to Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Office:

“…just before 8 p.m. one of our officers stopped a vehicle near the 14200 block of 8th Ave S.

The officer believed the subject was a person with outstanding warrants.

During the stop one of the occupants fled the area and the helicopter was circling the area looking for the person.

The helicopter did locate a person hiding nearby but it was not the person that had fled.

The guy hiding thought he had a warrant.

We did find the person with the warrants in a trailer and he was arrested for his warrants and unlawful possession of a firearm.

We also arrested another female from the trailer that had an outstanding DUI warrant.”

Why doesn’t Burien have a scanner feed online like most police and fire departments around the country?
