Phoenix Tea will be holding another ‘Tea 101’ class this coming Sunday, June 30th at their Olde Burien location at 902 SW 152nd Street.

“More and more people are discovering tea and the different tea cultures that can be found all over the world,” reads an announcement. “To help our local friends discover the interesting world of tea, Phoenix Tea is presenting a Tea 101 class this Sunday, June 30th, in our store at 902 SW 152nd Street, in Olde Burien.”

The two hour class will start at 10 a.m., and will include an introduction to the major categories of tea, discussions about how they are grown and processed, and demonstrations of different brewing techniques. Students will be able to taste each of the different teas as they are brewed. The class will be fairly informal but informative, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions. There will also be handouts of information provided to each of the students, to help with remembering the class content.

Participation is limited to 10 students so that each attendee has a satisfying experience. This is a participatory class, with demonstrations of brewing techniques and tastings of all of the teas prepared during the class. Cost for each person is $15, payable in advance or at the event. RSVP requested, but not required. Sign up on the Phoenix Tea website, on Facebook, or send an email to [email protected]. Attendees will get 10% off any tea purchased in the store the day of the class.

If you get inspired to come at the last minute, just give Phoenix a call and check if there’s still space available: 206-495-7330.
