UPDATE 7/12/13: The elderly woman who was found deceased under a tree on Tuesday has been identified as a 64-year old Burien resident.

Her identity has not yet been released, nor has the cause of death.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who was found dead under a tree in the Seahurst neighborhood of Burien on Tuesday, July 9.

Sgt. Cindi West told The B-Town Blog that police responded around 2 p.m. Tuesday to the 14900 block of 21 Ave SW (map below), where they found an unidentified, deceased woman laying under a tree.

“She was well dressed and residents in the area said she was seen regularly walking in the area,” West said. “The death appeared to be from natural causes, and we are trying to identify her, as she had no ID on her.”

Here are the details:

  • She is a white female
  • Possibly elderly
  • 5’3″, 147 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes
  • She was described as well dressed, wearing a pink blouse, grey pants and white shoes and sunglasses

If you have any information on who she is, please call the King County Medical Examiner’s Investigator number: 206-731-3232 ext. 1.

I feel extremely sorry for this woman’s family – or anyone who knows her…. I am sure she must live in the area…but the description is pretty vague (” possibly elderly”) . I assume she must live alone if the Police have not found her identity, and no one has reported her missing

Thanks Tricia for caring to comment. This women was our friend. As you can imagine it is such a shock to all who knew her. She was married and her husband was distraught since she didn’t show up back at home after her daily walk. From my understanding, according to the law it’s customary to wait at least 24 hours to report a missing person.

    What is the woman’s name?

Have they released her name yet? Still waiting on an update.
