‘National Night Out’ – a community gathering of neighbors to discuss how to fight crime – is coming Tuesday, Aug. 6.

National Night Out, often called “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, started in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

This annual event happens annually on the first Tuesday of August.

To participate in your local version, contact the Burien Police Department at (206) 296-3333 to register your event, or to find one in your neighborhood.
