Speeding car hits light pole, flips on 1st Ave South early Friday morning
The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that around 3:15 a.m. Friday morning (July 26) a car – traveling an estimated 90 MPH – was speeding northbound on 1st Ave South near S. 160th Street, when it crashed into a light pole and flipped.
Police say that a Burien deputy spotted the speeding 1990s-era Ford Thunderbird collide with the light pole, flip and come to a stop upside-down with four occupants trapped inside.
Deputies helped remove three passengers, and Burien/Normandy Park firefighters extricated the driver.
Two passengers were treated and released on scene, while a third was taken to Highline Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver was also taken to Highline Medical Center with minor injuries.
The driver was processed for Driving Under the Influence.
