Skippers, a Seafood and Chowder House restaurant located on the corner of Ambaum Blvd. SW and SW 148th, appears to have floundered and may be “sleeping with da fishes” again:
This Skippers re-opened with a new owner in October of 2009, after being shut down for non-payment of $48,000 in back rent by its previous owner (read our previous coverage here ).
Currently, the building sits empty, with doors locked and the inside still full of typical restaurant equipment. The Skipper’s chain of restaurants filed for bankruptcy in December of 2007, after owing creditors $6.7 million, approximately $2 million of which was to the Internal Revenue Service. Twenty-one of the outlets were then purchased by individual owners, including this one in Burien.
It is currently listed as available at a “Skippers For Sale” website . The building is 3,300 square feet large and seats 120.
This location is no longer listed on the Skippers website , which lists eight others in Washington state.
We have reached out to the owners and leasing agents and will update this post when we learn more information.Facebook Twitter Subscribe
