The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a “person with a rife” was stopped by several police officers Sunday near the intersection of 140th and 1st Ave South in Burien.

“We got a call of a person with a rifle in the area,” Sgt. Cindi West told The B-Town Blog. “We stopped a truck and did locate the rifle. The subject with the rifle said someone had threatened him with a hammer so he pulled the rifle out of his truck to defend himself.”

No shots were fired.
