Lisa Aumann from Burien Parks wants our Readers to know that there are two opportunities for Volunteers to help during November:

Mark your calendars for a couple of events in NOVEMBER: Check the link to our event calendar http://www.burienparks.net/ for information or read below:

Saturday, Nov. 9 we will be clearing Himalayan Blackberry along the west entrance trail in Salmon Creek Ravine. Jean Spohn from Shorewood on the Sound Community Group will be leading the event from 10-Noon. Please dress for the weather and prepare to get a bit dirty. Bring along some gloves and loppers if you have them, if not we have extra tools.  Limited parking at this location so use care when parking in the area. No restrooms at this park.

Saturday, Nov. 16 we will be planting native plants at Eagle Landing Park.  Earthcorps will be leading the activity from 10-2. Please dress for the weather and prepare to get a bit dirty. We will provide the tools and gloves but please pack a lunch/snack and a container of water. Check in at the parking lot at 10 am.  If you only have a couple of hours to volunteer please check–in either in the morning promptly by 10 or right after lunch at 12:30 pm in the parking lot.  Very limited parking at this park so please use care when parking in the neighborhood.  This park does not have a restroom but Lake Burien Park is close by.

Hope to you can make it!

Thank you!
