ELECTION: Final votes certified – meet your new councilmembers

King County Elections on Tuesday (Nov. 26) released the final, certified results of the Nov. 5 general election, and it’s confirmed – all current Burien City Council incumbents have been ousted, with a whole new batch elected.

Meet your newest councilmembers, who will be joining Deputy Mayor Lucy Krakowiak, along with Bob Edgar and Gerald Robison in January:

Here are the final totals:

City of Burien Council Position No. 1:

  • Lauren Berkowitz: 4912 51.59%
  • Jack Block, Jr.: 4566 47.96%
  • Write-in: 43 0.45%

City of Burien Council Position No. 3:

  • Joan McGilton: 4306 46.30%
  • Debi Wagner: 4963 53.37%
  • Write-in: 31 0.33%

City of Burien Council Position No. 5:

  • Nancy Tosta: 5342 57.17%
  • Rose Clark: 3965 42.43%
  • Write-in: 37 0.40%

City of Burien Council Position No. 7:

  • Steve Armstrong: 5691 61.17%
  • Joey Martinez: 3578 38.46%
  • Write-in: 34 0.37%
