Every year, Burien’s Navos hosts a free Thanksgiving meal for clients, their families and the larger community, and here are some photos from this week’s event, held on Tuesday, Nov. 26:
“It is a festive holiday meal for those who otherwise might not be able to celebrate,” said Kate Hoffman, Marketing & Communications Manager. “Yesterday was no exception with our biggest event to-date, serving 250-300 attendees of all ages.”
Kate adds:
Along with a full Thanksgiving meal, attendees were welcome to take donated hats, gloves and hygiene kits containing shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste and other basic items.
The Thanksgiving meal involved:
- Eighteen 26+ pound turkeys
- 40 pumpkin pies
- 200 hygiene kits
- Over 225 hats, scarves and gloves
A big thank-you goes to the more than ninety volunteers who helped us create a meaningful holiday for those in need. We’re also grateful to the Burien/White Center Rotary, Abbott Construction and the Sazan Group for donating hygiene kits.
